EMPOWER RVA YOUTH

The Mission

Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

The Vision

Our vision is to provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.

The Plan

Our programs weave together academics, enrichment, recreation and character formation. By promising a brighter future for our youth and making a commitment to our community, we’re healing lives, inspiring leaders for life, and creating a path to successful careers.

We strive to develop strong citizens who raise families without barriers, live hope-filled lives and give back to their community.

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club is a place for your kids to laugh. A place to learn. A place to grow. A place to belong.

Our programming focuses on our core program areas of education, character development, health and lifestyle, arts, morality, and sports.

After school, children have a designated environment to continue their education and work on homework. Before breaking into recreational programs, children receive a nutritious snack and do devotionals as a group.

Our Summer Day Camp is designed to prevent summer learning loss. Summer learning loss stacks up from year to year, broadening the achievement gap between lower- and higher-income youth. That’s why The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club offers developmentally appropriate, project-based learning materials to help keep children educated and engaged throughout the summer.

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club is a place for your camper to belong, grow, and engage in educational programs and make meaningful friendships.

Our week long camp will incorporate our six Core Program Areas to empower our campers this summer as they meet new friends and have plenty of fun. Children will also have access to sports, games, academic enrichment, swimming, weekly field trips and more.
